RESUMO

@#【Objective】 To explore the attention and its relationship with anxiety in patients with glaucoma.【Methods】A prospective case-control study was done on 20 primary open angle glaucoma(POAG)patients and 28 normal subjects. Response time with and without disturbance was examined by using Matlab software. Anxiety was assessed with State Anxiety Inventory(S- AI)and Trait Anxiety Inventory(T- AI). Response time and inhibiting effects between two groups were compared by t test and Mann- Whitney U test ,respectively. Spearman correlation analysis was applied to determine the relationship between inhibiting effect and anxiety.【Results】The scores of S-AI and T-AI in POAG group were significantly higher than those in normal subjects(t = -3.912,P = 0.001;t = -2.127,P = 0.042). There were statistically significant differences in the scores between groups even after gender was adjusted by using line regression model(β = 9.449,P = 0.000;β = 7.089,P = 0.018). The average response time in POAG group(0.84±0.15)s was significantly longer than that in normal participants(0.75±0.14)s(t = -2.127,P = 0.039). The difference was statistically insignificant when gender was adjusted by using line regression model(β = 0.063,P = 0.210). The inhibiting effect in POAG group(0.126±0.089)s was longer than that in normal subjects(0.085±0.066)s(Z = -1.715,P = 0.086). The inhabiting effect wasn′ t statistically significantly correlated with scores of S- AI and T- AI(P>0.05).【Conclusions】Patients with POAG showed severer anxiety than normal subjects but attention was comparable. There was no significant correlation between attention and anxiety.

RESUMO

Objective To explore the correlation between 4 tag single nucleotide polymorphisms (Tag SNP) sites (rs7721799, rs32897, rs7718461, rs10062367) of corticotropin releasing hormone binding protein (CRHBP) and schizophrenia and aggressive behavior in the Yunnan Han population. Methods Case-control correlation analysis was used to establish a complex amplification system. Improved multiplex ligase detection reaction (iMLDR) technology was used to detect the genotypes of 4 SNP sites of CRHBP gene of 163 Han schizophrenic patients (including 81 patients with aggressive behavior, 82 patients without aggressive behavior) and 345 healthy Han individuals, which were analyzed statistically by SPSS 19.0, Haploview 4.2 and PHASE 2.1 software. Results There was no correlation between the 3 SNP sites of CRHBP gene and the onset of schizophrenia except for the rs7718461 site (P>0.05). The relative risk of aggressive behavior of patients carrying GG or GA genotype at rs7718461 site were 4.903 times higher than those carrying AA genotype (P<0.05). Conclusion The CRHBP gene may not be associated with the occurrence of schizophrenia in Yunnan Han population, but AA genotype of rs7718461 may reduce the risk of aggressive behavior in schizophrenia patients.

RESUMO

·AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of anti - vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF ) and photodynamic therapy ( PDT) on pathological myopia ( PM) combined with choroidal neovascularization ( CNV ) using ETDRS chart and multifocal electroretinogram (mfERG). ·METHODS: Forty-three patients ( 45 eyes) diagnosed by fundus fluorescein angiography ( FFA ), indocyanine green angiograph ( ICGA ) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) with PM combined with macular CNV were recruited in this study. The patients were randomly divided into two groups for different treatments, intravitreal injection with Ranibizumab ( 20 patients, 22 eyes) and PDT (23 patients, 23 eyes). After treatment, all patients had been followed up monthly for 12mo. The further treatments were operated according to referral situations. The best corrected visual acuity ( BCVA) was recorded with the ETDRS chart and mfERG. At the last follow-up, the therapy efficacy was determined by ETDRS numbers and mfERG and analyzed. ·RESULTS: Before treatment, there was no significant difference on the baseline in ETDRS and mfERG latency of N1 wave, latency and the density values of P1 wave between ranibizumab group and PDT group. After 12mo treatment, the ETDRS number in ranibizumab group (39. 23± 20. 06) significantly increased to the baseline by 5. 88±9. 03(P<0. 05), and in PDT group (37. 38±16. 95) was not significantly improved by 0. 33±6. 94(P>0. 05). There was no significant difference in latency of N1 wave, latency and the density values of P1 wave from treatment response of mfERG in the two groups (P>0. 05). · CONCLUSION: In the treatment of macular CNV complicated by the PM, ranibizumab injection can improve visual function better than PDT, while similar on macular.

RESUMO

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the expressions of Cx26, Cx32 and Cx43 in prostate cancer (PCa) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and their roles in the development and progression of PCa in order to provide some novel evidence for the diagnosis and treatment of PCa.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>We determined the expressions of Cx26, Cx32 and Cx43 in the paraffin samples from 31 cases of PCa and 23 cases of BPH by SABC immunohistochemical staining, and analyzed the relationship of their expressions with the clinical and pathological parameters of PCa and BPH using the semiquantitative method.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The positive expressions of Cx26 in BPH and PCa were 82.6% and 74.2%, respectively (chi2 = 0.541, P > 0.05), those of Cx32 were 78.3% and 61.3% (chi2 = 1.763, P > 0.05), and those of Cx43 were 87.0% and 38.7% (chi2 = 12.730, P < 0.01). The staining intensities of Cx26 and Cx43 were negatively correlated with the malignant phenotype of PCa (rCx26 = -0.476, P < 0.01; rCx43 = -0.484, P < 0.01), but not the expression of Cx32 (r = -0.242, P > 0.05). The three Cxs exhibited no correlation with the age and serum PSA level of the patients (P > 0.05), nor among their expressions (P > 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Cx26, Cx32 and Cx43 are expressed in different degrees in BPH and PCa tissues. Cx43 plays a role in the occurrence and progression of PCa, and may serve as a new marker of PCa besides PSA as well as a new target in the biotherapy of PCa. Cx26 may be partially involved in the progression of PCa, but its mechanisms need to be further studied.</p>
